The Bell

The Bell is tucked away on a little side road off Jamaica Street. Located within 100 meters of Stocks Croft this is a very popular pub which is easily accessible from Kingsdown, Cotham, St. Pauls and Montpelier.

The Bell is a traditional pub and more well known as a drinking venue than for its food. Live DJs play most nights making it a popular venue for music and its 1am close on Fridays and Saturdays make it a popular late night boozer.

Seating in the pub is fairly cramped and even though there is a room on the far side of the bar, when its busy you’ll do well to find a table. The pub has a decent patio with seating to the rear which has covered tables and heaters. Again fairly cramped but its a great sun trap in the summer.

We have an outside area in the form of a patio, with electric garden heaters and covered areas where you can hide away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The roast is pretty basic, but for the price (£5.95) it is amazing value and you get a decent plate full of food. The service is good and the staff are friendly. Personally I wouldn’t rush to The Bell for a Sunday Roast but it is a pretty unloved offering, but for convenience and value I can’t fault it.

Overall the pub is a good place to visit with a vibrant atmosphere.

You get what you pay for, cheap and cheerful in a real drinking pub atmosphere.
